Intimitrons
Name: Beatrice
Year: 2013
Competitions Attended: Western Canada (Calgary)
For the 2013 competition, Ultimate Assent, we primarily designed our robot (Beatrice) to be able to pull itself up to the first rod on a pyramid and block flying discs with our defense net. Although those were our main strategies, we also had a conveyor belt that was capable of depositing the discs into a one-point low goal to obtain extra points. Since the 2013 competition was our rookie year, we wanted to focus on a few specific parts of Beatrice and develop them as much as possible. We definitely learned a lot from our first year’s robot, and we will be able to build off of the skills we learned from our robot and other teams’ robots to carry over to new competitions.
